Coquitlam West Basketball Club: Competitive Program

Promote play at a competitive level for U12+/Grade 7 players
Develop players through FUNdamentals and in alignment with the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD)
Provide a transition from elementary & middle school to high school level basketball
Build relationships that last beyond school playing years

Commitment from March to July
Players must be 12+ years old and/or Grade 7-11 (we may accept younger players, please contact us)
Attend 2 development sessions per week
Complete online payment and registration form (including all areas of player profile and contact info for both parents for emergency purposes)

Commitment to the program from March to end of July
Attend 2 development sessions per week, unless approved by the coach in advance.
- If unable to attend practice, advise teammates and coach in advance on Teamsnap
We encourage players to participate in other activities and sports, but the expectation for players would be that if basketball conflicts with other activities their priority would go to basketball.
- Players should not be missing basketball in favour of another activity
- If basketball conflicts with another sport/activity, players may need to change their other sports' timing as we intend to have 2 development sessions per week
Successful players must provide payment by the deadline
- If we do not receive payment, confirming acceptance, by the deadline we may withdraw the offer and the position may be offered to another player
Please note: As in all competitive play, playing time is the coaches' sole responsibility and decision. All players may not receive equal playing time, however all players meeting commitments will play.

All coaches have NCCP Community Certification (Level 1) and/or ongoing coaching development activities

We endeavor to keep our program affordable, as we believe no child should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of basketball
Fees are non-refundable due to advance commitment/payment for gear, facilities, equipment, league & tournament registration fees
Fees are eligible for Kidsport or Athletics for Kids Funding
- These organizations provide support for families in order to remove financial barriers that prevent kids from playing basketball
- Alternatively, please contact us as we have a limited number of sponsorships available
Cost Breakdown
- $125/hr - Development Sessions
- $1800 - League games
- $345/each - Exhibition Games (gym time, officials, score keepers)
- $25 - Basketball BC membership
- $100 - Uniform (shorts, reversible moisture management microfibre jersey)
- $50/hr/coach - Coaching
- $675/each - Tournaments
- $1100- Administrative costs
