Spring Development Program
Goals
-
Promote play at a competitive level for U12-14/Grade 5-8 Girls and Boys
-
Develop players through FUNdamentals and in alignment with Long Term Athlete Development Model (LTAD)
-
To provide a transition from Middle school to High School level basketball
-
Build relationships that last beyond school playing years
To Be Eligible to Participate
-
Players must be 14 years old (or under), on December 31, 2019 in Grade 5-8
-
In some cases we may accept younger players (please discuss with coaches)
-
Must complete online fee payment and registration form including all areas of:
-
Contact information for both parents and players including email address, home and mobile numbers for emergency purposes.
Expectations of Players

The commitment to this program is January to March
-
We encourage players to participate in other activities and sports
-
If the practice conflicts with soccer, hockey, etc. then players will need to change their other sport’s timing as we intend to have a fixed practice schedule.

Players are expected to attend development sessions on a regular basis
-
If a player is unable to attend practice we do expect them to advise coaches directly and team via teamsnap, in advance where possible
Coaching
-
All coaches have NCCP Community Certification (Level 1) and/or ongoing coaching development activities
Fees

Development Program

20+ development sessions 1.5hr each (Value- $50/hr)

Comprehensive insurance coverage for participation in CWC activities
-
Basketball BC membership (Value $15)
-
20% of Nike Store
-

CWC Uniform Package $85
-
CWC Uniform including; shorts and reversible jersey in moisture management microfiber (Value $65)

CWC all surface basketball (Value $20)

***Players are not required to purchase a CWC uniform package but must attend Development Sessions wearing a basketball uniform with an appropriate basketball. Mismatched shorts & reversible jersey will not be permitted***

Fees are non-refundable due to advance commitment/payment for facilities and equipment

*Fees are eligible for Kidsport, Jumpstart or Athletics for Kids Funding

We believe that no child should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of basketball. The organizations listed above provide support to families in order to remove financial barriers that prevent kids from playing basketball.
